I believe:

The Bible is the infallible Word of the Living God (2 Timothy 3:16), inerrant in the originals AND in its present form: preserved through the generations in the Authorized King James Version. We believe the Bible to be the final word and consummate authority on all matters of faith and doctrine.

God is One, yet exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (1 John 5:7).  Though equal in power and all other attributes, there exists a hierarchy (1 Corinthians 11:3). 

God the Father is the First and Greatest of the Holy Trinity (John 10:29).  He, therefore, is the ultimate authority in the Universe (1 Corinthians 11:3).  God is a Spirit (John 4:24), eternal (John 1:2), and is infinite in mercy, grace, patience, goodness, truth, forgiveness, power, and love (Exodus 34:7, John 1:14).

Jesus Christ, is the second person of the Holy Trinity.  He is also God Almighty (John 1:1,14, 8:58, 10:38, Revelation 1:8) and, like the Father, He is eternal: existing from the very beginning (John 1:2).  He is God Incarnate, and was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin.  He lived a sinless life (Hebrews 4:15, 1 John 3:5, 2 Corinthians 5:21), performed miracles, forgave sins, and healed the sick and oppressed of the devil.  

The Lord Jesus was condemned to die by crucifixion (a method of torture and execution used by the Romans) by the governor of Jerusalem, Pontius Pilate, and nailed to a cross at a place called Calvary, just outside of Jerusalem.

Jesus shed His precious blood and died on that cross as the Last and Final Sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. He was taken down from the cross and buried in a new tomb. Three days later, Jesus rose to life again and, during the next forty days, was seen by over 120 witnesses. Jesus ascended into Heaven and sat down at the right hand of God the Father, where He now sits making intercession for all those who believe in Him and are trusting in His blood for their salvation.

Jesus Christ will come again to receive unto Himself all those who trust Him for their Salvation (John 14:3, Revelation 22:6).  The Lord Jesus will judge all mankind at the Judgment (John 5:22, Revelation 20:11-12).

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Holy Trinity (1 John 5:7).  He is the Spirit of Truth and indwells the believer (John 14:17).  The Spirit comforts the believer (John 14:16), teaches the believer all things, and brings to the believer’s mind all things that he has read in Scripture (John 14:26).  The Holy Spirit gives power to the believer (Acts 13:9-12, 5:1-11), emboldens the servants of God to fulfill the Great Commission (Acts 4:29-31), guides the believer into all truth and bears witness that the testimony of Jesus Christ is true (John 16:13a).  The Holy Spirit glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ (John 16:13b) and enables the believer to do the same.

Man was created in the image of God: perfect and sinless.  Adam later succumbed to temptation and fell into sin by disobeying the commandment of God (Genesis 3).  Adam’s sin passed onto all mankind (Romans 5:12); therefore all are guilty of sin and are under condemnation—lost and separated from God.  All have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).

Sickness, suffering, death, and damnation is the penalty for Adam’s transgression, and man is now separated from God because of sin.

There is a coming Judgment when all those who have ever dwelt on the earth will be judged by the Lord Jesus Christ for our sins.

To escape God’s coming judgment on this sinful world, you must be saved. 

Salvation is deliverance from:

  1. The power and effects of sin (Rom. 5:12)
  2. This “present evil world” (Gal. 1:4)
  3. The “curse of the law” (Gal. 4:5)
  4. Bondage to sin (Rom. 6:6, Gal. 4:3)
  5. Death (Rom. 6:23) (though we will die, we will not stay dead)
  6. Hell (Matt. 10:28)
  7. Judgment (Rev. 19:13)
  8. The “second death” or the Lake of Fire (Rev. 19:14-15)

Salvation is a gift of God and cannot be earned through good works (Ephesians 2:9).  It is based not on our own righteousness, but on the righteousness of Jesus Christ, the only Man who never sinned.   We are saved by faith (Ephesians 2:8) that the blood of Jesus was sufficient atonement for our sins (Romans 3:25).  When we accept Jesus as our Savior, His righteousness is applied to us, and we become a child of God, holy and blameless, and are entitled to the protection, blessings, joy, and peace of God.  Our names are written in the Book of Life, and we will miss the coming Judgment of this sinful world and the eternal sentence of damnation and punishment by a Holy and Righteous God (Revelation 20:12).

To be saved, you must:

  1. Know that you are a sinner in need of forgiveness.
  2. Repent of your sins; that is, regret having sinned and endeavor not to sin against a Holy God.
  3. Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross and shed His blood for the remission of our sins, and in so doing, satisfied God’s requirement for atonement.  He literally died the death we should have.
  4. Accept Jesus’ sacrifice as sufficient payment for your sins.  If it was good enough for God, it should be good enough for us.
  5. Ask Jesus to forgive your sins and accept Him as your Savior and Lord.

All who reject salvation in Christ Jesus will go to hell and, at the coming Judgment, will be cast into the lake of fire, which is the second death (Revelation 20:14).

Baptism is a symbolic act of obedience to the Word of God.  It is symbolic in the sense that it is a means by which the believing Christian identifies himself with Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection (Colossians 2:12, Romans 6:4-6).  As it is symbolic, it is not a means of salvation (1 Peter 3:21), but a symbol of our salvation: an outward, tangible token of an inward, intangible reality. It is done once in faith in obedience to the commandment of God (Ephesians 4:5, Acts 2:38).

There are only two Resurrections: The resurrection of the believers and the resurrection of the damned—the unbelievers (John 5:28-29).  The resurrection of the believers will be unto eternal glory, and will take place at the end of the Great Tribulation before God’s judgment on this earth and before Jesus establishes His Millennial Kingdom (Revelation 20:4,6).  The resurrection of the unbelievers will be unto condemnation and eternal punishment in the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:12-14), and will take place at the end of the thousand-year reign of Jesus Christ (Revelation 19:5).   

The Rapture is a false doctrine, emphasizing, as it does, the taking up of the living into Heaven.  It does not include the “rapture” of the dead, and, indeed, neither can it, as the taking up of the living and the dead in Christ is called the Resurrection.  It is also false in that it is believed to take place before the Great Tribulation.  The Bible clearly teaches that the Resurrection will take place at the close of the Great Tribulation.
